Today I am thankful for life’s simple pleasures.
I have become pretty selfish with my free time, and today was no different. Not that I am anti-social, but after spending a day living life in a very public way at school with my students, the solitude and comfort of my home gives me great pleasure.
Flannel pants, fuzzy socks, and a great cup of tea are the “happy, happy” at the end of this day.
As a Crock Pot of pumpkin butter simmers, a delicious autumn scent fills my house, and this scent is second only to the taste. Truly, it is the little things that can turn a long day into a wonderful evening. The comforts of home and “homey” things are gifts from above.“Godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world and we cannot take anything out of the world But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.” 1 Timothy 6:6-8.
Are you content with the little pleasures God pours into your life?
Take time to list some of the simple pleasures you enjoy each day and offer thanksgiving to the One who lovingly gives them.
