Autumn LOVE!

Leaf color is tardy in its appearance in Milledgeville, Georgia  this autumn season…or so it seems to me. This morning it was cool enough to don fuzzy socks, grab my favorite blanket, and head to the sanctuary of my back porch for my early morning Bible study. My furry buddy, Bo, out the door on my heels.

Back Porch Bible Study with BO.

The beginning tinge of autumn color is peaking through. My coffee, heavily laced with pumpkin spice creamer, making my porch moments pretty darn perfect! I really am a simple girl, and I do love “early” on Saturday mornings.

During this season of “change,”  incomplete is finding completion at my house.

It’s time to finish those household projects, clean out the dreaded junk drawers and complete the miscellaneously incomplete weeks of past Bible studies…

Oh, you know what I mean!  Don’t act like you don’t!

Inevitably, during any group Bible study, whether it  is a Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, Nancy Leigh DeMoss, or anyone, there is always a week or two that seems to allude me and my crazy schedule.

BUT, do you know what I have found?

The “finishing” of these  miscellaneous weeks… this hodge-podge of Scripture studies and writers, have been amazingly appropriate for this season of my life. The completion of two weeks of Beth Moore’s James study left my toes bruised regarding idolatry. Finishing days of her A Heart Like His study on the life of David, has served as a reminder of dealing with unfinished business…Go figure!

Only God can do this!

Only He can pull these odds and ends together to minister to our restless hearts.

How could I have known that He would remind me of the importance of finishing somethings during  a season when he has also shown me that there are times when finishing strong can also mean not finishing some things.

Do you have any incomplete projects or studies hanging around on shelves somewhere?

Pull them…finish them. You will be blessed.

Philippians 1:6 – “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

Make this a season of completion…Tie up those loose ends knowing that the Lord longs to complete things in his children.
